AI TOOL CONNECTIONS
Early accessManage your cases from Claude
Ask about your caseload in plain English, then add a note, assign an owner or move a case on, from Claude. ChatGPT connects to read your cases too. Decisions stay with your team, in First Mile Labs.
- Which of my cases are waiting for a decision?
- Summarise the screening hits on Northwind Freight.
- Add a note that we’ve asked for the latest accounts.
- Assign the Fernhill case to me.
WHAT TO ASK
Your caseload, in plain English
It reads what your role lets you see in First Mile Labs, and your configuration too.
Find cases
By status, risk band, owner, case type, dates, tags or a company name.
A case at a glance
Its status, risk, decision, owner and tags, the people on it, and the moves open to you.
What happened
The case’s timeline, event by event.
Checks and hits
Vendor checks, screening hits with your analyst’s action and the AI triage, and adverse-media articles.
Documents and notes
Which documents a case holds, never their contents, and your colleagues’ notes.
Your numbers
Cases by month and status, risk bands, decisions, SLA breaches and open cases by owner.
WHAT CLAUDE CAN CHANGE
Changes, as your role allows
Only when you allow changes as you connect, and only with the Analyst role or above.
Add a note
It shows on the case as yours, via Claude, and never to the customer.
Assign an owner
From the colleagues who can own cases. The new owner is emailed.
Set tags
On a case, or on a person on it.
Move a case on
A corporate case, to awaiting decision or pending customer input, or back to the customer with a message they’re emailed. Each move is previewed and confirmed first.
Mark EDD evidence
Mark a requirement received. Waiving one needs the MLRO role and a confirmation.
Propose a risk change
Nothing changes until an MLRO who isn’t the proposer approves it in First Mile Labs.
WHAT STAYS WITH YOUR TEAM
Decisions stay in First Mile Labs
- Approving or declining a customer
- Closing, withdrawing or reopening a case
- Approving a risk band change
- Reopening an EDD requirement or lifting a waiver
- Changing your configuration
YOUR CONTROLS
Your workspace decides who connects, and how
Off until you switch it on
Your admin turns connections on for the workspace, and confirms where the data goes.
Which apps, and from where
Allow any app or only the ones you choose, and limit connections to your own networks.
Personal details, separately
A person’s full date of birth, address and identity-check outcomes need their own switch.
One person, one connection
Each member connects their own account and works with their own role. First Mile Labs staff can’t connect.
Block or disconnect
Admins see every member’s connection and can block it. Members disconnect from their Account settings.
Changes when you allow them
A connection reads until the member allows changes, as an Analyst or above, when they connect.
THE RECORD
Every call on the record
- Every call is logged: who made it, with which app, in which workspace, which tool and the outcome.
- A change shows where it came from: a note or a status move reads “via Claude” on the case, and status and owner changes reach your webhooks the same way.
- Reading a person’s full details is an audit event of its own.
- An applicant’s data subject request lists each AI tool call that read their case.
WHERE THE DATA GOES
Your AI provider, under your agreement
What a tool returns goes to the AI provider your member connects, such as Anthropic, under your organisation’s own agreement with that provider. That provider isn’t a First Mile Labs subprocessor, and your admin confirms this when switching connections on.
Results never include document contents, identity-document numbers or decision notes. A person’s full date of birth, address and email come only when personal details are switched on.

KNOW YOUR AGENT
The five questions your second line will ask
From our post on Know Your Agent, and how a connection answers each one.
- 1. Who is it?
- Every connection names the app and the member it acts for, and every call records both. Which model the AI provider runs isn’t visible to us, so we don’t claim it.
- 2. What may it do?
- What the member allowed when connecting, never more than their role allows, and never a decision. First Mile Labs enforces this, not the AI tool.
- 3. Who is accountable?
- The member it acts as. A change is recorded as theirs, made through the app, so it maps to a named person.
- 4. What’s recorded?
- Every call, with its tool and its outcome, and each change on the case’s activity. The conversation itself stays with the AI provider.
- 5. How do you stop it?
- Your admin switches connections off for the workspace, or blocks one member’s app, and it stops at the next call. A member can disconnect at any time.
FAQ
Questions about AI tool connections
- Which plans include it?
- Every plan. Your team’s AI subscription, such as Claude, is your own.
- Can the AI approve or decline a customer?
- No. It reads your cases and, if you allow it, adds notes, assigns owners and moves cases on. Approving, declining and closing a case stay in First Mile Labs.
- Does ChatGPT work too?
- ChatGPT connects and reads your cases. We haven’t yet seen it make a change, so for now we only say that of Claude.
- Where does the data go?
- What a tool returns goes to the AI provider your member connects, under your organisation’s own agreement with that provider. That provider isn’t a First Mile Labs subprocessor, and your admin confirms this when switching connections on.
- Can our admins see who has connected?
- Yes. Security & access lists every member’s connection, with the app, when it was connected and last used, and a Block.
- Is it available now?
- In early access. We’re opening it to a small number of workspaces: request early access and we’ll set yours up.
